“Within a single generation we are witnessing a loss of half of humanity’s social, spiritual and intellectual legacy.”- Wade Davis, Anthropologist, Ethnobotanist & National Geographic Explorer-In-Residence
This week on Healthy You we are really excited to have Marie-Rose Phan-Lê as our guest. She is the Founder and President of Healing Planet Project. Healing Planet Project’s mission is to bring awareness to the loss of perceptual and cultural diversity of indigenous healing arts and spiritual practices around the world. It is their intention to share the magic, beauty and struggles of healing people, places and plants in order to present an expanded paradigm of what healing can mean. As Marie-Rose says, “The world’s healing legacy belongs to all of us, and we believe we all share in the responsibility to be the stewards of this wisdom and tradition.”
Healing Planet is a non-profit dedicated to cultural preservation with an emphasis on the healing arts and spiritual traditions of cultures worldwide through media and education. The organization’s goal is to utilize and create “Media as Medicine.” Healing Planet’s current project is Healing Planet, the documentary film. The Healing Planet team traveled the world in the spirit of preservation while capturing amazing stories and creating an entertaining film and lasting archive.
