This week our guest is Dr Malcolm Kendrick MbChB, MRCGP. Dr Kendrick graduated from Aberdeen University in Scotland. He currently works as a primary care physician near Manchester in England with a special interest in cardiology. He developed a European system for continual education working alongside the European Society of Cardiology and the European Commission in Brussels.
Last year he was elected to Who’s Who for his publishing and campaigning against the cholesterol hypothesis and the overuse of statins. He is a peer-reviewer for the British Medical Journal, and writes articles for a number of medical magazines and journals. He wrote the book The Great Cholesterol Con: What Really Causes Heart Disease and How To Avoid It, which has been published in the UK, USA, and several other European countries.
He is currently writing ‘The dangerous book for grown-ups.’ Which exposes many other areas where ‘evidence-free’ medical advice is doing more harm than good. He is an active member of The International Network of Cholesterol Skeptics www.thincs.org and considers himself a hopeful skeptic.
Have you ever wondered about cholesterol, heart disease and statin drugs? Tune in on Wednesday to get a new perspective on what many consider the fundamental issues of heart disease management and prevention.
