Today’s guest is Tom Watson, also known as the ”King County EcoConsumer.” Tom manages the EcoConsumer Public Outreach Program for King County Recycling and Environmental Services, and in that role he writes the EcoConsumer column for the Seattle Times and does regular segments on the KOMO4 TV news. He also often does other TV and radio appearances, writes the EcoConsumer blog and makes frequent public presentations.
Since so many of us these days are confused about all the “green” products and the best ways to reduce waste and toxics, Tom strives in his work to cut through all the hype and answer people’s real-world questions.
Tom has done considerable public education and research on toxics and pesticides issues. At the 3rd annual Seattle Green Festival June 5-6, he will be a panelist in a session about hazardous chemicals, “Navigating a Toxic Environment,” and he will also moderate and speak in a session about “Green Jobs.”
